East Bank Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements
Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans
- Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
- Completed: 2013
Trigon is providing engineering, design and construction phase services on this project, which generally includes improvements to the solids handling facilities at the Sewerage and Water Board’s 200 million gallon per day (MGD) East Bank Wastewater Treatment Plant (EBWWTP).
A damaged multiple hearth incinerator is being replaced with a new sludge dryer system of similar capacity. The new sludge dryer and ancillary equipment will be integrated with an existing fluidized bed incinerator with the intent to allow Class A biosolids to be produced for use in various ways, including land application and wetlands re-building to name a few. Ancillary equipment will include a heat exchanger, biosolids cake bin, a thermal oil heater and associated mechanical conveyance equipment, belt presses, HVAC piping and ductwork, odor control, instrumentation and interface with motor control centers and SCADA.
Trigon is a sub-consultant and is providing various engineering and regulatory permitting services throughout the project
