F. Edward Hebert Roadway Improvements

Plaquemines Parish Government

  • Location: Belle Chasse, Louisiana
  • Project Cost: $2.5 million

F. Edward Hebert Blvd. is a major asphalt street (1.4 miles) in Plaquemines Parish; it serves various parish facilities, an elementary school, parks and recreational facilities, and the proposed future Parish Government Complex.

The project generally consists of roadway reconstruction and improvements (asphalt & concrete), drainage improvements, and bicycle and pedestrian improvements. The project is part of a Comprehensive Parish-Wide Master Plan with construction cost estimated at $2.5 million.

Approximately half of the roadway length is being totally removed and reconstructed as a concrete street. The other half will remain an asphalt roadway but is being totally rehabilitated.

A 5-foot bike lane is being added on both sides of the roadway throughout the length of the project. Additionally, a new turning lane is being added at the entrance to the elementary school to facilitate student drop off/pick up.

Trigon is the prime engineer on this project, is performing construction engineering and inspection services for this DOTD/FHWA funded project.
