Hazard Mitigation Retrofit of Multiple Buildings

Trigon is currently providing engineering, design and construction services on this project, which generally includes retrofitting thirty (30) existing buildings/facilities throughout Plaquemines Parish to protect the integrity of the building envelopes and strengthen the components of the buildings against high winds (up to 140 mph).

This hazard mitigation work is being funded through, and requires close coordination with, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP).

Examples of building improvements include the installation of roll-down shutter systems (for covering exterior glass areas) or window covers and other building hardening methods (e.g., strengthening or replacing exterior doors, hurricane clips, bracing systems).
